IFCO RPCs are a sustainable solution for packaging and transporting fresh produce. Unlike traditional single-use packaging, these containers are designed to be reused multiple times, significantly reducing waste and the environmental impact of our supply chain.

How Cabello Fresh Produce Utilizes IFCO RPCs

1. Reducing Waste:
By using IFCO RPCs, we are able to cut down on the amount of single-use packaging waste. Each container can be used up to 100 times, which means fewer resources are consumed and less waste is generated compared to traditional packaging methods.

2. Conserving Resources:
IFCO RPCs are made from durable, recyclable materials. When a container reaches the end of its life cycle, it is recycled to create new RPCs, conserving raw materials and reducing the need for new plastic production.

3. Lowering Carbon Footprint:
Transporting produce in IFCO RPCs is more efficient than using disposable packaging. The standardized size and sturdy construction of RPCs optimize space in transportation vehicles, allowing us to transport more produce per trip and reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

4. Enhancing Freshness:
The design of IFCO RPCs also helps to maintain the freshness and quality of our produce. Improved air circulation and better protection during transport mean that our fruits arrive at their destination in optimal condition, reducing food waste.

The Impact of Our Efforts

In 2023 alone, our use of IFCO RPCs has yielded significant environmental savings:

Waste Reduction: We prevented approximately 17,507 kg of solid waste.
Carbon Emissions: Our transportation efficiency improvements resulted in a reduction of 34,137 kg of CO2 emissions.
Resource Conservation: We saved an estimated 609 m3 of water by avoiding the production of single-use packaging materials.
